In 2003, Jackson was awarded a SCAD Presidential Fellowship for Printmaking. In 2002, she was awarded faculty artist-in-residence at the SCAD Painting Workspace / ARTLink @ Elizabeth Foundation Studios in New York City. She was the recipient of two Idyllwild Associates Fellowships for Etching/Bookmaking and Dance at the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in 1982 and 1983. In 1981, Jackson was nominated for the first National Awards in the Visual Arts, was Artist?in?Residence at Savannah College of Art and Design and at the Gibbs Museum and Art Gallery, Charleston, S.C. During 1978 and 1979, she completed two large?scale outdoor murals in Los Angeles as part of the Brockman Gallery Productions CETA Public Art Program. In 1977, two limited edition lithographs were produced while in residence at the Normal Editions Workshop, Center for the Visual Arts at Illinois State University at Normal.

Jackson's work can be found in public and private collections internationally, and throughout the nation including the Indianapolis Museum of Art; Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building, New York; California African American Museum, Los Angeles; Palm Springs Desert Museum; Savannah College of Art and Design Jen Library; and the Daniel, Mann, Johnson and Mendenhall Corporation, Los Angeles.
